Professional paintball. Do you consider
it in the same league as professional baseball, football, basketball,
or hell, even hockey (which isn’t even in existence this year)?
A lot of people do, so why is it that we continue to eat like friggin’
slobs, only play/train once or twice a week, and don’t take care
of our bodies in an athletic manner?
Could you imagine what football would be like if on Super Bowl Sunday
Peyton Manning dropped dead of a heart attack because he’d been
eating like a Jenny Craig reject and not working out? The sport
would become a joke almost overnight, so if we want people to take
us seriously, it’s time that we get serious about ourselves.
That means eating right, working out 3–4 times a week, working on
game skills 4–5 times a week, the whole nine yards.Since you probably
have a hard time wondering why hot dogs come in packs of eight and
hot dog buns come in packs of 12, we decided to do the work for
you.
We enlisted the help of four specialists, each with a mastery of
one of the skills necessary to turn you into the Ultimate Paintballer.
First there’s Matty Marshall from Team XSV, one of the best-rounded
players in the world, here to show you how the world’s best players
train their paintball skills almost every day. Next is CS Sloan,
our in-house nutritionist and trainer, who has drawn up a custom
plan made exclusively for paintballers to optimize their workouts
and eating habits to win on the field. Dave Araki, our pick as the
best gun technician in paintball, gives you the rundown on the most
common problems you’ll run into gear wise on the field, and what
you’ll need to overcome them. Finally, master mentalist Pete Siegel
gives you the Tony Robbins treatment, and will get you psychically
ready to get out there and destroy. No one paintball player in the
world has all the angles figured out, but after this article, you
will. You can be the Ultimate Paintballer. The lesson begins.
